As an HR Specialist (Staffing) with the federal government, you play a key role in building effective teams. This position is both dynamic and challenging—you’ll consult with managers to understand their hiring needs, craft clear and compelling job announcements, and select the best assessment methods to identify top talent. Your work centers on reviewing and evaluating applications submitted through official job postings, ensuring candidates meet federal requirements and standards.

You’ll manage important data and documentation, oversee steps in the pre-employment process—including special hiring programs—and navigate complex regulations while balancing multiple priorities. By guiding managers and applicants through each stage of hiring, you make a real impact on the quality and strength of the federal workforce.

In this position you will provide evaluative and analytical support to the recruitment and placement process. Major duties may include but are not limited to:

• Making recommendations on a wide range of staffing authorities and special employment programs in order to meet the agencies staffing goals.
• Applying qualification standards and ranking methods to evaluate applicants experience, training and education.
• Utilizing various HR information systems/tools to complete and track workload.
• Identifying, evaluating, and recommending to management appropriate human resources interventions to resolve complex interrelated human resources problems and issues.
