Payroll Analyst
Lexington, KY | Hybrid/Contract
Contract Duration: 6 months
Soni’s client is a non‑profit seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Analyst to support bi‑weekly payroll operations and serve as a key resource for payroll and timekeeping systems. This role focuses on accurate payroll processing, compliance, and employee support while partnering closely with People & Culture, Finance, and external vendors. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a deadline‑driven, confidential environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage payroll and timekeeping systems, including user access, system configurations, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination (Tenrox).
- Process bi‑weekly payroll, including audits, taxes, garnishments, manual checks, and direct deposits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with People & Culture and Finance on benefits, deductions, reporting, audits, and month‑ and year‑end close activities.
- Produce payroll and timecard reports, manage payroll inquiries through the help desk, and deliver recurring employee training.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including year‑end filings and tax notices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of payroll experience.
- Strong payroll operations, compliance, and systems knowledge.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and deadline management.
- Understanding of SOX‑related payroll and HR audit controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and professional fluency in English.
- Experience with UKG Pro and Tenrox.
- Payroll accounting knowledge and fund or not‑for‑profit experience.
- Exposure to international payroll processing.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus.
$35-40 per hour. Pay is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job‑related qualifications.
