Overview
Workday Technical Lead - Business Operations at Fan Duel Sports Network, Independently Owned & Operated by Main Street Sports Group. The role supports the organization by leading the Workday team and managing day-to-day Workday HCM and Finance operations, with a primary focus on Finance initiatives. This is a hybrid role located in Southport, CT or NYC, reporting to the VP of Strategic Initiatives.
ThePosition
We are seeking a Workday Technical Lead - Business Operations to join the Technology team and lead company wide projects within the Program Management Office (PMO). The role balances hands-on technical work with strategic leadership to optimize Workday for operational initiatives across HR, Finance and IT.
What you will do- Lead the Workday team and manage day-to-day operations of Workday HCM and Finance systems.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance and IT to ensure Workday is optimized to support operational initiatives.
- Focus on Finance initiatives and guide Workday strategy in a large, complex environment.
- Utilize project management methodologies to support end-to-end management from initiation through execution and reporting within the PMO framework.
- Develop and maintain project and process rigor for large, strategic projects; build relationships with subject matter experts to ensure on-time, on-scope delivery.
- Oversee configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday solutions across modules such as Core HR, Core Finance, Payroll, and Talent Management.
- Drive system upgrades, process improvements, integrations, and new feature rollouts.
- Ensure data integrity, oversee audits, validation, and compliance efforts.
- Serve as primary contact for system issues, troubleshooting, and resolutions with IT and external vendors as needed.
- Develop and implement best practices and end-user training to maximize adoption and effectiveness.
- Monitor Workday updates and new functionalities; implement system improvements to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports to provide leaders with actionable insights; lead IAM of Workday and related platforms.
- Ensure seamless integration of Workday with other systems and platforms within the organization.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture and strong relationships with teammates and third-party vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant professional work experience.
- Proven ability to administer and configure the Workday platform, including developing, migrating code and configuration, and managing security.
- Experience with Workday Business Process Framework (BPF).
- Leadership experience: lead and manage a Workday team, with ability to provide direction on system enhancements, module implementations, and ongoing support.
- Experience overseeing Workday configuration, testing, deployment across Core HR, Core Finance, Payroll, and Talent Management.
- Experience driving Workday-related projects (upgrades, process improvements, integrations, and feature rollouts).
- Strong data governance, audits, validation, and compliance capabilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with IT, HR, Finance and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Broad technical understanding of technical architecture.
- PMP Certification.
- Experience with vendor management and system implementations.
- Process management and process improvement techniques; change management skills.

The base compensation range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000
. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
