Biomolecular Sciences Research Assistant

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to join our Research and Development team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a cutting‑edge research environment. As a Research and Development Intern, you will actively contribute to ongoing projects within our three thematic areas and support the mission of our research center.

Possible Responsibilities
  • Conduct Research: Work closely with senior researchers on projects related to the analysis of cells and tissues, advanced technologies, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in the collection and analysis of data, utilizing advanced technologies and methodologies relevant to our research themes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to contribute to the development of innovative solutions and applications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and methodologies.
  • Communication: Present findings to team members and participate in discussions to contribute insights and perspectives.
  • Community Engagement: Support initiatives aimed at building stronger communities by actively engaging with stakeholders and assisting in outreach programs.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Strong academic background in a related field, such as biology, technology, or community development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Our Research Centre conducts its research through three themes, centrally coordinated and closely aligned to our expertise:
Analysis of Cells and Tissues to Identify and Combat Disease Processes to Enable Healthier Lives. Application of Advanced Technologies to Create and Drive Future Economies. Building Stronger Communities by working with all stakeholders to engage them with our research. The Centre has a designated commercial unit with strong industrial links, providing a range of services in bioanalysis and custom synthesis.

Our research skills are utilized by local SMEs, national and international companies who access our expertise and facilities in co‑development partnerships and contract research projects.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS On‑site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on‑site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns.

All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support‑ for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and Excursions

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.

This position does not offer visa sponsorship for non‑US citizens.

Visa Sponsorship (London, Edinburgh, Sydney only)
