Business Development Manager – Drug Delivery​/Wearables

Overview

Weiss-Aug is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager – Drug Delivery / Wearables to join our Med Tech/Pharma-focused team. This role focuses on identifying strategic customers, developing technical engineering-based partnerships, and driving a diverse customer base in the Drug Delivery / Combination Devices, Wearables Monitoring, and related Pharma segments. The position reports to the Director of Business Development – Med Tech and supports the development of targeted sales plans for the market segment.

• Act as Market Segment Leader and Subject Matter Expert for Drug Delivery / Combination Devices, Wearables, Monitoring, and Pharma tie-ins to Devices
• Achieve sales targets for new business growth: revenue, margin, lead generation, and partnership tracking
• Develop and diversify the customer base including large OEMs, startups, and contract manufacturers
• Identify target customer portfolios aligned with Weiss-Aug capabilities
• Provide Voice of the Customer feedback to drive strategic planning and technology roadmap
• Establish new leads and strategic relationships, expanding existing accounts to new sites and product teams
• Partner with NPI and PPI teams to cultivate and farm the existing customer base
• Lead and facilitate the delivery of unique, competitive, solution-oriented proposals with cross-functional teams
• Negotiate contracts
• Utilize proven sales methodologies (Challenger, Solution, Command of Sales)
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop campaigns supporting market segment sales efforts

• Create or lead content for marketing, including social media, presentations, advertisements, and speaking engagements
• Maintain knowledge of competitors, markets, and industry trends; attend trade shows and review journals
• Maintain positive relationships with key engineering and procurement personnel at customer sites
• Maintain synergistic relationships with Weiss-Aug teams to meet Med Tech group goals
• Prepare travel itineraries, sales reports, and maintain CRM data
• Extensive travel (+50%) is expected

• College degree or equivalent; engineering degree a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of field sales experience in manufacturing serving Drug Delivery / Combination Devices or Wearables
• Professional selling, computer, and technical skills; proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of regulatory/quality requirements for Med Tech (ISO 13485; FDA; CFR 820 Part 11; GxP; Med Accred)
• Some knowledge of thermoplastic molding, stamping, industrial manufacturing, machining or contract manufacturing
• Strong networking with existing contacts in purchasing/engineering within target segments
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic
• Experience with CRM tools
