The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer. His/her role is to lead the overall accounting and financial reporting function within the Company and improve upon month end close processes and internal controls, while leveraging technology.
Responsibilities- Complete oversight of all activities within the accounting department.
- Perform month-end and year-end financial close activities within required deadlines.
- Lead the yearly audit process and liaise with auditor and internal cross functional stakeholders to manage the issuance of the audit report within established time frames.
- Work closely with finance (FP&A) team to create and provide senior management reporting packages with actional insight.
- Maintain and/or develop, and document financial controls environment, processes and policies related to all aspects of accounting department.
- Work with cross functional leaders to establish appropriate internal controls to support the organization.
- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Stay current on new accounting policies and guidance, provide leadership in the implementation of new accounting policies and provide development opportunities to staff.
- Liaise with consultants, tax preparers and auditors on relevant projects.
- Train/cross-train and help with professional development of team members within the accounting department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required plus CPA designation. Advanced degree, such as MBA is not required but appreciated.
- A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in a similar size organization leading on site and remote teams is required.
- Highly proficient in computer skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
- Experience in Microsoft Business Central or other ERP systems is must. Experience in implementation of systems is appreciated.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and resource management skills.
- Ability to manage complex and changing calendars.
- Ability to interact effectively and courteously with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and meet established or anticipated deadlines.
- Ability to take on a wide range of duties and projects and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.

Required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
