Forklift Operator / Material Handler – Fairfield, NJ

Pay: $20.75 per hour

2nd Shift

iBoost Talent is hiring for a Full‑Time forklift operator / material handler in Fairfield, NJ. The position includes industry‑leading benefits and a wellness package, with eligibility for various programs.

• Correctly set up and operate various machines, follow production and quality procedures, check materials for defects, maintain production materials, and inspect product to ensure high quality.
• Perform minor adjustments and daily maintenance to equipment.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.
• Provide training to other associates.
• Basic or routine troubleshooting.
• Operate material handling equipment: forklift, stand back, truck.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Conduct machine and production changeovers as required.
• Certified to operate various workstations/positions within the facility to meet production needs.
• Inspect measurements and product to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Transport the product to the correct location when completed.
• Update all completed work in the correct system per the schedule.
• Understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties.
• Perform and demonstrate all manufacturing procedures after training.
• Assist with other duties within the department and/or other work stations/departments when necessary.
• Complete clean‑up responsibilities and maintain workstation according to 5‑S procedure.

• Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries; cooperate in safety programs, initiatives and investigations.

• Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking in English.
• Ability to use and interpret measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, BOMs and associated procedures.
• Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities or tasks.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Basic math and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to operate some or all of the following equipment: presses, laser turret, welder, table saws, edgers, paint sprayers, mills and other manufacturing equipment as needed.
• Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements.
• High attention to detail.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Capability to train others.
• Decision making on imperfect information.
• Multitasking and bias towards action.
• Proven reliability – attendance and punctuality.
• Understanding of basic lean principles – 5‑S, Kanban.
• Ability to use hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
• Minimum education and experience:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of previous experience operating specialized equipment or two years of demonstrated experience with a variety of equipment.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated hand movements to grasp, pinch and manipulate objects.
