Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team and manage end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees across multiple states. This role requires a strong understanding of multistate payroll regulations, prevailing wage compliance, and hands‑on experience with ADP payroll systems. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $55,000 to $70,000 annually.

Base pay range

$55,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly and/or weekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across various U.S. states using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Administer and audit prevailing wage payrolls in accordance with Davis-Bacon and related labor standards.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Manage garnishments, benefits deductions, and other with holdings.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2s, payroll reports, and other tax‑related documents.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations, especially those affecting multistate and prevailing wage environments.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements related to payroll and labor compliance.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multistate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of prevailing wage requirements and certified payroll reporting.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll platforms.
  • Familiarity with labor compliance regulations including Davis-Bacon Act.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
