Shift: 2nd Shift (4 Day/10 Hour) – 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM EST

Safely and efficiently handle and pack finished goods into shipping boxes per customer specifications to ensure quality products are produced at a consistent rate of speed and in accordance with machine standards and production goals.
Secondary Responsibilities- Review and follow job ticket instructions for each production run to determine the size, quantity, stack pattern, and labeling instructions required to pack and/or shrink‑wrap before shipment.
- Assemble corrugated shipping cases and place them on the conveyor at a consistent rate to supply the packing line with the cases needed.
- Safely and efficiently handle and pack converted material into shipping cases, pick up finished goods from conveyor, fill and stack case uniformly ensuring proper count, stack pattern and fit.
- Ensure efficient and proper sealing as case moves through tape machine; maintain tape machine and report any issues to supervisor; submit work orders to the maintenance department as needed.
- Safely and securely stack cases on pallet and ensure proper tags are securely fastened to completed pallets.
- Regularly rotate through different responsibilities and on different packing lines as instructed by Supervisor or Lead; assist with packing, stacking and/or feeding product through other converting machines or shrink‑wrap machines as assigned.
- Maintain quality standards by understanding defective characteristics of products, sorting defective parts, and communicating with Supervisor, Lead, or Quality Manager when quality issues arise.
- Consistently perform required quality checks for fulfillment prior to and throughout production runs, correcting issues when identified.
- Ensure that finished products with defects are properly scrapped and discarded while consistently following procedures to minimize waste.
- Follow all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; use situational awareness and actively look for weak signals to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions; advise Supervisor or Lead immediately of any information regarding the safety of the machine or machine crew.
- Consistently wear appropriate PPE for the task at hand within the assigned area.
- Assist, as needed, with coordinating and communicating rotation assignments with other members of the packing crew to alternate packing and stacking duties on each production line.
- Record production data and provide comments for each production job in the manufacturing computer system; complete production report and ensure accuracy with reporting of production data; set up and use various scanners as needed.
- Actively seek and adopt new updates and improvements to processes, new procedures, and innovations that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation; complete all safety, equipment or company training as required.
- Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S program.
- Actively collaborate and effectively communicate with others throughout the plant to improve operations, reduce waste, maintain lean manufacturing goals, maintain safe working conditions, and answer questions.
- Utilize any machine downtime (not including approved breaks) by performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a Supervisor.
Must have the ability to lead others who have been placed with them to execute the demands of the operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and other written instructions.
Qualifications- Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training in a production or manufacturing environment. - Basic computer skills and ability to utilize software.
- Language
Skills:
Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc.; write legibly in English; communicate and understand directions in English as needed.
