Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (Step Down) – Fairfield Hospital

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Act as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units
• Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination across hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement
• Administer medications in a safe manner per state practice and organizational policies
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
