** Job Overview
** Hern Marine is seeking a full-time Sales Consultant to guide customers through the boat-buying process from initial inquiry through final delivery. This customer-focused role combines relationship building, product knowledge, and sales expertise to help customers select the right new or pre-owned boat for their needs and budget. The Sales Consultant manages leads, conducts product demonstrations, coordinates with other dealership departments, and provides a professional and enjoyable experience before, during, and after the sale.

** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Greets customers in the showroom, on the dealership lot, at events, and through phone, email, and online inquiries
* Identifies customer needs and recommends boats and related products that align with their lifestyle and budget
* Maintains current knowledge of dealership inventory, boat brands, models, features, pricing, and manufacturer programs
* Conducts boat walkarounds, product demonstrations, and on-water demonstrations as appropriate
* Generates, tracks, and follows up on sales leads using dealership CRM and follow-up systems
* Guides customers through the sales process, including negotiations, purchase agreements, and required documentation
* Coordinates with service, parts, and other dealership staff to support a smooth delivery experience
* Provides responsive customer service and builds long-term relationships before and after the sale
* Participates in boat shows, dealership events, manufacturer training, and other sales activities
* Performs other duties as assigned
** Qualifications / Requirements
*** Valid driver’s license
* Strong customer service, relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
* Motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable asking for the sale and following through with customers
* Ability to manage multiple leads and maintain consistent customer follow-up
* Professional, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced family-owned dealership
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Basic computer proficiency and ability to use CRM and dealership systems
* Willingness to learn marine products, manufacturers, and boating systems
* Minimum of two (2) years of sales or related customer-facing experience preferred
* Boat sales, automotive, RV, powersports, retail, or other high-value consumer sales experience preferred
* Knowledge of recreational boating and marine products preferred
