Gateway Sourcingis assisting a client in search of an experienced Bookkeeping/Accounting Managerto support their organization in Downtown Fairhope. This person will be primarily be responsible for payroll, processing and reconciling accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries; as well as assisting with administrative duties of this 4-person office. They must have strong analytical and communication skills, business acumen, as well as an ability to work effectively and constructively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries.
  • Reconcile organization accounts and bank/investment accounts through the trial balance stage.
  • Process payroll Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually, including tax payments and year end reconciliation, for 3-4 employees.
  • Generate Monthly Reports and Financial Statements for the organization in a timely manner, including month-end and year-end closing.
  • Prepare and monitor the organization Budget.
  • Assist the Corporation Accountant with 990 Tax Return.
  • Assist the Corporation Treasurer, President, and Secretary as requested.
  • Process and monitor insurance policies; delinquent accounts; organization projects.
  • Clerical and administrative duties in the office, to include preparation of files and documents, basic understanding of ad valorem taxes, typing, writing, filing, answering the phone, assisting persons that come into the office, using various office machines, scheduling appointments, conducting appointments, and maintaining organization records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of bookkeeping in a small to medium-sized office.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principles.
  • Must be proficient in accounting software platforms, specifically Quick Books (Both Desktop and Online).
  • Must be proficient in computers/internet, specifically Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, the public, lenders, real estate professionals, court officials, and city/county/state officials.
  • Must possess a great attitude, superior interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and helpfully, both orally and in writing, in a courteous and patient manner. Must be able to resolve difficult or unusual questions with absolute poise and composure.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, detail oriented, and well-organized, with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Must possess the ability to learn new skills and build upon acquired knowledge, with retention.
  • Must be able to sit, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout the office for the entire workday.
  • This is a non-smoking environment

Desired Skills & Attributes

  • Basic understanding of map reading, property legal descriptions, real estate chains of title, and real estate transactions are preferred, as additional duties in these areas will be assigned.

Location: Fairhope, AL. This is an onsite role. No remote or hybrid.

Compensation: This is a full time hourly position M-F 8 am- 5 pm. While there are no health care benefits provided, a monthly $200 is allocated to assist with health care needs. A 3% IRA match is also contributed. First year employees receive 1 week vacation and designated holidays.
