The Emerging Store Manager provides leadership to customer service associates and designated hitters, manages the front‑end of the store and makes recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.
Responsibilities- Supervises
: customer service associates and designated hitters, manages front‑end operations, merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability. Supports Store Manager with overall operation to achieve company deliverables. - Leads and manages store team members
: recruitment, hiring, performance management, discipline, ensuring engagement and achievement of deliverables. - Customer Experience
: engages customers, resolves complaints, provides coaching, training, and improves service metrics. - Operations
: assigns daily activities, delegates tasks, manages opening/closing, scheduling conflicts, data analysis, cash management, inventory control, maintenance, technology systems, safety, and compliance with policies and regulations. - Full Store Operation Business Performance Management
: independently analyzes financial data, creates action plans, drives solutions, supports store growth, and serves as pharmacy technician during busy periods when required. - People & Performance Management
: trains, mentors, coaches team members, handles discipline and termination, manages talent pipeline, and ensures adherence to recruitment and training procedures. - Training & Personal Development
: completes Store Manager learning program, all required courses, monitors own performance, and maintains required pharmacy technician license. - Communications
: maintains regular communication with team members, assists Store Manager in strategy communication.
- Bachelor’s degree (all majors welcome) OR completed Walgreens Community Internship Program OR High School Diploma/GED with two years supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, business ethics, self‑motivation, strong communication, and business acumen.
- Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of start.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager if offered, possibly requiring relocation.
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Internal candidates: management experience, supervising, managing, assigning work, experience in both front‑end and pharmacy.
- External candidates: business majors, prior retail or food industry experience.

The actual salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills, experience and other relevant factors.
