Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
Welcome! We're excited you're considering an opportunity with us! Performs diagnostic CT procedures within the CT Department utilizing specific equipment for that purpose. Rotates through diagnostic radiology as assigned and performs all responsibilities outlined in the Computed Tomography (CT) Tech job description. Involved in the practice of radiation and general safety at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
- Radiography certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) within 6 months of hire.
- Maintain current or temporary Radiography license as required by state board where services will be provided.
- Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of experience as a computed tomography technologist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.
- Prepares room, equipment, materials, as needed for patient exams.
- Performs examinations per Physician's orders and explains procedures to the patients.
- Observes patient and equipment and reports any unusual occurrences or changes.
- Documents status of patient in reference to radiology/CT procedure on patient's chart.
- Practices safe radiation exposure and protection as well as general safety for patient's, visitors, and staff at all times.
- Produces diagnostic quality images utilizing CT equipment and effectively judges CT images for proper technique to best demonstrate anatomy and pathology.

- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.
- Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights, with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis.

- Exposure to body fluids, human tissues, contagious diseases, sharps, explosive gases, cleaning agents, and disinfectants on a daily basis.
- Exposure to high stress and constant interruptions.
- Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
Knowledge of growth and development, understanding of the patient's needs and scope of treatment.
