The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look and support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager with performance, people and process responsibilities.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing when applicable.
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services; contribute to retail and service sales targets, guest loyalty, and retail shrink management.
• Demonstrate business acumen by identifying opportunities for growth.
• Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
• Stay informed of industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, efficiently and timely.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team for a total‑store experience.
• Establish professional relationships that foster collaborative guest service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings for professional development.

• Know and enforce Ulta Beauty policies, procedures and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Adhere to established service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking and clientele systems for guest services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of all areas.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets with loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with salon techniques for cutting, coloring, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup and ear piercing.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals required for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $15.00 – $16.80 per hour or services pay for the workweek pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay will be based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law and tips paid by service guests.
