Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design & recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop, and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment.
They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.
Job Requirements- Establish inspection methodologies by combining knowledge of best-known measurement methods with available measurement and test equipment
- Use specialized test equipment to qualify/verify product
- Understanding the importance of Good Documentation Practices, complete Quality records accurately and legibly and file appropriately
- Coordinate MRB activities; provide and document disposition recommendations.
- Evaluate nonconforming material to provide input regarding condition
- Identify opportunities for corrective/preventive action; perform effectiveness checks
- Perform final product release activities (Certificate of Compliance)
- Be familiar with first article inspection requirements per AS9102
- Perform data entry to support monitoring of quality/performance trends
- Perform documentation review and dimension verification on received materials
- Revise work instructions to include clarification where needed (i.e., pictures added, instructions reworded etc.)
- Be familiar with, and utilize, the organizations ERP system (i.e., SAP)
- Effectively communicate with vendors to ensure quality requirements are cascaded down
- Work with vendors to conduct RCCA on any nonconforming product supplied to TE
- Be familiar with all GPLs so assistance can be provided as necessary
- Audit processes for compliance to established policies/procedures
4th shift hours from:
Fri-Sun 7am-730pm.
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications
- General understanding of Statistical Process Control
- Ability to read and interpret prints and customer requirements
- Proficient with standard dimensional gages-caliper, micrometer, drop Indicator, comparator
- Proficient with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Vision Systems, Digital Optical Comparator, and other advanced measurement test equipment
- Proficient with problem solving tools-RCA, 8D report, fishbone diagram, 5 whys, etc.
- Proven an effective member of a problem solving team
- Aid in the development of and perform First Article Inspection under the direction of Quality/ Engineering
- Perform in house calibrations of gages and equipment following established instructions
- Execute documented validation protocols and provide feedback lo Quality/Engineering for inclusion in validation reports
- Verify process control effectiveness-gage checks, record maintenance, product segregation
- Verify product visually and dimensionally through in-process inspections
Education:
Associates degree preferred. H.S or equivalent GED required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a quality-related manufacturing role.
