Position Summary

At For Eyes, an optical retailer, we are looking for a Licensed Optician to provide high‑quality eye care and eyewear. This part‑time role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a superior eyewear experience.

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition & helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community.

• Greets customers with a warm welcome, exchanges names and sets expectations.
• Custom‑fits glasses and precisely places prescription lenses.
• Leads in optical acumen and serves as a voice for associates.
• Takes & records measurements, adjusts or fits eyewear correctly, ensuring standards are met.
• Attracts new customers and explores their needs using open‑ended questions.
• Attentive to details, asks follow‑up questions for clarity and reads verbal/non‑verbal cues.
• Assists co‑workers with complex product and prescription needs.
• Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
• Performs work accurately and thoroughly using technology under time pressure.
• Communicates benefits of lenses & frames, reinforcing customer selections.
• Anticipates problems, explores underlying reasons and develops long‑term solutions.
• Multi‑tasks, prioritizes & manages time with competing demands.
• Commits to delivery dates and times, seeks feedback and asks for referrals.
• Strives to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs & competencies.
• Plays a role in pick‑up presentation, celebration, and education.
• Takes pride in store appearance, keeps the store clean, attractive & organized.
• Communicates safety opportunities, demonstrates safe work practices.
• Shows a "can do" spirit, self‑motivated, and eager for continual learning.
• Adheres to company policies, including discounting, promotions & inventory.
• Sells at least 80‑100% of time.
• Performs additional duties as assigned (e.g., customer calls, dispensing).
• Maintains proper dress code, name tag and associate tablet.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• State licenses.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener & team builder.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Sales skills; ability to use & carry an iPad/tablet.
• Familiarity with POS, computers & calculators.

Employee pay determined by geography, experience, qualifications and local minimum wage. Competitive bonus & commission possible, plus benefits including health care, retirement savings, paid time off and discounts.
