Summary:

All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply. NJ TRANSIT will provide resources on obtaining a NJ CDL, but Qualified Applicants who possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements will be given primary consideration. This position is located at the Neptune Garage in Neptune.

Education, Experience, and

Qualifications:

• Are twenty-one (21) years of age or older; able to read, write and speak the English language
• Possess three (3) years non–provisional driving experience with a valid New Jersey Driver’s License (NOT A PROVISIONAL Driver’s LICENSE), New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or a New York or Pennsylvania COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE with unrestricted airbrake and passenger endorsements,
• Are able to obtain a validated New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License permit that has been stamped indicating the passing of written tests for passenger, airbrake and general knowledge endorsements. The expiration date on the permit must be valid for at least fourteen (14) days beyond the first day of the scheduled training program,
• Have a safe driving record that is in good standing with less than five (5) accumulated points,
• Are available to participate in the structured training program (perfect attendance at training is required)
• Pass our company’s interview process, background check and physical examination to qualify for a medical certification (physical exam includes a drug and alcohol screening).

• $6,000 Signing Bonus for CDL A or B License Holders (must have air brake and passenger endorsement)*
• $3,000 Signing Bonus for CDL A or B Permit Holders with air brake and passenger endorsement (also CDL A or B licenses holders that have either air brake or passenger endorsement)*
• Full benefit package including medical, prescription, dental and vision
• Starting pay rate of $18.74 per hour with current top pay rate of $26.69.

• Assistance obtaining your CDL (for NJ drivers only)
