An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Health Records Services team as a Medical Secretary. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a background in clinical administration and a commitment to providing high-quality secretarial support.

You will provide a comprehensive secretarial service, ensuring that clinical administrative tasks are completed accurately and within required timescales. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to support the wider healthcare service.

• Audio Typing:
  Producing accurate clinical correspondence and reports via audio dictation.
• Office Procedures:
  Maintaining efficient office systems and utilizing a range of IT applications.
• Task Prioritization:
  Managing a busy workload and prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines.
• Communication:
  Acting as a point of contact for enquiries, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organization:
  Ensuring all secretarial duties are handled with a high degree of organization and flexibility.

• Experience:
  
  Proven secretarial experience is essential, specifically including audio typing.
• Knowledge: A working knowledge of medical terminology is highly required for this post.
• IT
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficiency in standard office IT applications and general office procedures.
• Personal Attributes:
  You must be a self-starter who can use their initiative while remaining a reliable team player.
• Compliance:
  The successful candidate must complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

Hours Update:
As of April 1, 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours. Hourly rates will increase accordingly to ensure no loss of pay.
