Job Description & How to Apply Below

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Improvement Advisor to join NHS Forth Valley Quality. This role will support a range of high-profile programmes and projects across the organisation. In this pivotal role, you will work in partnership with NHS Forth Valley, Clackmannanshire & Stirling, and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnerships to deliver organisational priorities. Your focus will be on approaches that add measurable value to the services we provide, ensuring positive outcomes for the people who access our care.

A key aspect of this role involves engaging with clinicians and other stakeholders to support improvement programmes and projects in acute, community, and primary care settings. You will work flexibly across the quality portfolio, with the opportunity to influence and lead key projects that improve experiences, outcomes, and safety for service users. Additionally, you will be responsible for building capability and capacity for quality improvement by applying the Forth Valley approach to QI, as well as teaching and coaching QI skills to colleagues throughout the organisation.

We are looking for well-motivated people who are educated to degree level, hold lead level quality improvement qualification or evidence of working towards this. You must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in training and effectively applying the Model for Improvement to lead quality improvement initiatives. Coaching frontline, multidisciplinary teams in improvement work is also essential for this role.

Experience of working in health and care is required, along with a proven track record in innovation, service improvement, and change management within large, complex organisations. You will be expected to work at locations across NHS Forth Valley. Evidence of improvement expertise and programme management experience, including the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data, is essential. The ability to produce high-quality reports and communicate progress effectively is also required.

We are seeking candidates with creative thinking and innovation skills, particularly in multi‑agency and whole‑system contexts. You should be able to challenge the norm, test assumptions, and develop new ideas and ways of working.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.
