Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence.
  • Get to know residents and families, ensuring truly personalised care plans.
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain the highest standards of care and influence the team.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, and in administering medication.
  • Maintain accurate records of the care provided and build strong relationships with the rest of the team.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care, with preparation to pursue a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Background in person‑centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
  • Brilliant positive energy and a natural ability to get along with people.
  • Strong record‑keeping skills and effective time‑management.
  • Considerate and kind communication with residents and co‑workers.
Safeguarding and Training

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility in adult social care. You must be able to recognise signs that may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its various forms, and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice, report concerns and, if necessary, raise escalation.
