We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager to work within the NHS Forth Valley Universal Children’s Services.

The post holder will hold a responsibility for the management of the School Nursing, Health Visiting, Practice Development services and the lead for the delivery of the Care Experience Pathway and UNCRC. The post also has authority and responsibility for ensuring that processes are in place for the assessment of needs and for the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes aimed at meeting needs;

and for the setting of standards; as well as for providing professional nursing advice and support.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of management support to the Service Manager and Head of Service for Universal Children’s Services, in the day-to-day operation of the School Nursing Health Visiting and Practice Development services.

Qualification requirements

The job requires a first level registered nurse or registered midwife with a nursing/midwifery qualification equivalent to a degree; experience at a senior level; in a leadership and/ or management position.

Registration with a professional organisation to be able to practice is essential.

Additional knowledge and skills

In order to make a significant impact on the service, the post holder will be required to have a highly developed/ in depth professional knowledge and skill set, in School Nursing, Health Visiting, Practice Development, Care Experience and UNCRC. Highly developed clinical/non-clinical leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to work together, are also required. In addition, it is essential that the post holder has an expert ability to analyse, highly complex information, to make autonomous, professional decisions, which the post holder will confidently use, to be able to make informed, strategic proposals.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑ra. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
