Pediatric Nurse, Public Health Nurse
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and forward‑thinking Paediatric Diabetes Nurse to join our Children’s Services within NHS Forth Valley.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and progressive multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to children and young people with diabetes and their families. You will play a key role in supporting patients from diagnosis through ongoing management, ensuring care is safe, effective and tailored to individual needs.
You will manage a defined caseload and work across hospital and community settings, providing specialist clinical care, education, and emotional support. Working in partnership with families, schools and wider services, you will promote self‑management, wellbeing and positive health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to children and young people with diabetes.
- Provide education and support to families, carers, and partner agencies.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
- Contribute to clinics, community visits and service improvement initiatives.
- Support continuous quality improvement and alignment with national standards.
- Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Recognised qualification in Paediatric Diabetes.
- Strong communication, education and leadership skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across Forth Valley.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, safe and effective care aligned to NHS Forth Valley values.
- Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
