The Workforce Development Team within Adult Social Care & All Age Commissioning provides assurance and support to improve the quality of practice across services. The Quality Assurance, Audit, Policy and Procedures Officer undertakes case file audits, themed and multi‑agency reviews, and contributes to policy and procedure development to ensure practice is safe, compliant and outcome‑focused. The role supports managers and senior leaders by identifying good practice, areas for improvement and driving continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake case file audits, themed reviews and multi‑agency audits across Adult Social Care in line with the agreed quality assurance framework
- Analyse audit findings and produce clear, evidence based reports identifying strengths, risks and areas for improvement
- Support services to develop, implement and monitor robust action plans to improve practice and outcomes
- Contribute to the review and updating of policies and procedures to ensure they are current, compliant and support effective practice
- Provide professional challenge, advice and guidance to managers and practitioners to embed a strong quality assurance culture
- Support safeguarding and litigation activity through case reviews and assurance work as required
- Significant experience within Adult Social Care, including a strong understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and quality standards
- Proven experience of undertaking or leading quality assurance activity, such as case file audits, themed reviews or service evaluations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and produce clear, high‑quality reports that drive improvement
- Experience of reviewing, developing or updating policies and procedures to support safe, effective and compliant practice
- Confidence to provide professional challenge and constructive feedback to managers and practitioners to improve practice and outcomes
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external partners and contributing positively within a multi‑agency environment
