This is a full-time, on-site Travel Consultant role based in Falkirk. The Travel Consultant will support customers in planning and booking holidays, tailoring travel packages to individual needs and budgets, and providing expert advice on destinations, transportation, and accommodation options. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling travel enquiries in person, by phone, and online, managing reservations and amendments, processing payments, and ensuring accurate documentation.
The role also involves promoting Barrhead Travel products, meeting sales and service targets, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, suppliers, and offers. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to deliver a high-quality customer experience and contribute to the branch’s overall performance.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Travel Consulting and Travel Management, with the ability to design and coordinate complete travel itineraries.
- Candidates should possess practical experience in Travel Arrangements and Reservations, including booking flights, accommodations, packages, and ancillary services.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on listening to client needs, providing clear information, and building long‑term relationships.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in face‑to‑face, telephone, and digital interactions.
- Candidates should possess solid numerical and IT skills, including working with booking systems, CRM tools, and common office software.
- Prior experience in retail travel, tour operations, or a related customer‑facing role is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of major tour operators, airline fare structures, and travel industry regulations is an advantage.
- A passion for travel, willingness to learn, and ability to work to sales and service targets in a team‑oriented environment are essential.
