Permanent, part-time Scheme Support Officers working at our Young persons accommodation service in Moriston, Swansea. You will be required to work on a rolling rota which involves day shifts between 7:30 – 22:30.

Swansea Young Persons service provides temporary accommodation to young people age 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness. The service delivers intensive housing related supported to individuals who are ready to gain independence and a tenancy of their own.

As a Young Persons Scheme Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service. You will provide emotional and practical support, assist with any issues that may arise, and contribute to a calm and stable environment.

• Address complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health issues, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
• Work with a wide range of personalities and behaviours, including individuals who may be resistant to support.
• Adapt your approach to effectively engage with a diverse clientele.
• Undertake lone working, requiring strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence to work on your own initiative.

To excel as a Scheme Support Officer, you don't necessarily need previous experience or specific qualifications. Instead, this role requires:

• Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
