HGV Driver

Here at NSL, part of Marston Holdings Ltd, we are more than just the “parking people”; we provide outsourced business services to public and private sectors, including comprehensive parking and street management solutions.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 42.5 hours per week. We need an HGV driver who holds a Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 HGV) + HIAB.

The successful candidate will be trained to use high‑tech equipment and carry out enforcement action on untaxed vehicles on behalf of the DVLA, including recovery of unlicensed vehicles. You will operate within current legislation and procedures, ensuring that all members of the public are treated equally and fairly.

• Attend a daily briefing and collect all removal information and reports relevant to the day’s work.
• Ensure vehicle and equipment are serviceable and fit for purpose, report faults to the Pound Manager.
• Carry out a physical examination of all lifting and towing equipment, and ensure the digital tachograph is operating correctly.
• Check that the recovery vehicle is capable of removing the vehicles safely and inform the pound manager of any concerns.
• Carry out the safe removal of all vehicles, assigned via the tablet PC or by telephone from the pound; take required photographs, complete a vehicle condition report, confirm removal with the pound and inform the Police.
• Deliver the vehicles to the pound, unload, take further photographs, request the next task from the office and repeat the process.
• Work with other agencies when required, including Police, DVLA and VOSA.
• Deal with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensure relevant information packs are available.
• Be flexible in attitude to working hours and locations and prepare to take on other roles temporarily as required by the operation.
• Be presentable and demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and honesty.
