Job Overview
We are currently searching for a full‑time (40 hours per week) Family Support Worker (FSW) for our Family Resource Center (FRC). The FSW provides information, educational resources, and referrals to community services for family members. The hourly rate is $19.75, with an additional $1 for bilingual language capacity. Hours run Monday through Friday—three days from 8:30 am to 5 pm, two days from 11:30 am to 7 pm, and two Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm per month.
Hours are flexible to accommodate evenings and weekend needs of families. FSA offers a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for this position.
- Develop the FRC calendar and host parent and youth support groups.
- Recruit and support volunteers who lead specialized support groups as needed.
- Follow up with family members or providers within two weeks of referral to ensure access to services referred by the FRC.
- Ask family members to complete a Family Satisfaction Survey.
- Participate on phone calls or physically accompany family members to off‑site service locations.
- Establish working relationships with clinical, administrative, and support staff to maximize services available.
- Effectively interact with staff, consumers, family members, administration, and community, in person and by telephone.
- Maintain all ethical and legal requirements of the Agency.
- Focus on understanding and meeting family needs.
- Maintain positive work relationships in a respectful and collaborative manner.
- Maintain good communication with others, ensuring others have necessary information.
- Actively work toward organizational improvement and professional growth.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet program needs.
- High school diploma or GED and minimum one year of experience working with children and families.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong organizational skills; computer literacy required.
- Experience navigating child and family‑serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with those systems.
- Must be able to successfully complete an MA State CORI check & CPS check.
