The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students in 7th-12th grade at a charter school just 52 miles from Boston - a refreshing drive out of the city and onto the open road toward beautiful Fall River. This role focuses on developing individualized learning plans, monitoring and assessing student progress, and collaborating with educators and families to promote both academic and social growth.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Special Education Teacher who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of older students - and doesn’t mind a scenic commute with purpose.
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification
- Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred - Designs & delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
- Classroom experience Monday-Friday, structured setting
- Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchair bound preferred
