Sr. Specialist, Mechanical Engineer
Location: Fall River, MA (On‑Site)
Schedule: 9/80 Regular (Every other Friday Off)
Salary Range: USD $100,000 – $185,000 per year
Job Description- Support design effort by performing mechanical engineering analysis to establish validity of proposed designs.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to enhance the structural and thermal performance of components and mechanisms.
- Develop designs using 3‑D computer aided design tools.
- Perform and document structural and analysis utilizing classical techniques and finite element analysis to establish the validity of proposed designs, perform kinematic and dynamic analysis of mechanisms, perform modal shock and vibration analysis, and conduct thermal analysis, flow analysis, and vibration analysis.
- Work with other mechanical designers and engineers to optimize designs for structural and thermal performance.
- Participate in design reviews to demonstrate that the design meets all specifications and customer requirements.
- Support the creation of technical performance specifications and assist Purchasing Department with procurement of items as necessary.
- Adhere to budget and schedule commitments.
- Prepare and review design documentation in accordance with contract requirements and/or internal standards.
- Perform estimates for manpower and other resource factors for analysis‑related tasks.
- Prepare and present internal and external design reviews, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review activities to demonstrate the design meets all specifications and customer requirements; critically examine a new or existing design to verify that design principles have been correctly applied.
- Develop working designs, computer solid models, design layouts and drawings using MCAD/MCAE tools.
- Ensure quality through adherence to the Quality Systems Manual, applicable Standard Work Instructions, and other standards invoked internally or contractually.
- Work in a typical office environment with exposure to a light manufacturing environment and laboratory environment.
- Use safety equipment (PPE) as required in designated areas.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed (10%).
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; or graduate degree with 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX.
- Experience with analysis tools such as Ansys, MathCAD, and CFDesign for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience transitioning designs from prototype to production, including support for Low‑Rate Initial Production (LRIP).
- Ability to perform classical hand calculations and interpret convergence data to validate finite element analysis (FEA) results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD, PADs, LabVIEW, and Xilinx.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $100,000 - $185,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
