Overview
Summary:
Provides health care services, applying operational procedures of equipment being used to produce detailed images of the patient to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Prepares and operates scanner utilizing approved protocols and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. Provide appropriate patient care (newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).

- Operate MRI equipment according to approved protocols and related techniques to produce diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
- Provide patient care across age ranges (newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) and ensure safety and comfort.
- Support the radiology team and adhere to professional conduct and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols, equipment operation, positioning techniques, patient transfers, and understanding of age-related developmental issues in pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, strong communication skills, and flexibility to work overtime, on-call duty, and weekend rotations.
- Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of students in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for MRI and radiologic technology programs.
- One to three years related experience required.
- Education:
Certification by ARRT in radiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging; current BLS certification;
Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography license;
Associate in Science Degree, Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Accredited Radiography Program (or equivalent). - I.V. Certification preferred.
$40.62-$59.85 per hour. Brown University Health is an Equal Opportunity employer.
