SummaryThis entry‑level position is supervised by the Foreman and requires learning the production sequence to effectively perform basic lubrication, oil changes, and preventive maintenance (PM) on conveyor systems. The role must work efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to production, while communicating important information and asking correct follow‑up questions.
Essential Tasks- Follow company policy and OSHA regulations to ensure safe work habits and conditions for employees.
- Observe lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and all safety programs and procedures.
- Act as a safety driver, elevating any potential problems to a supervisor timely.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Execute basic maintenance calls.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and PM reports, and prepare parts request forms.
- Undergo required training, including annual GMPT.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area within the Maintenance Shop and at each job site.
- Assist other employees, especially during breakdowns, to keep product flow.
- Notify supervision of any equipment problems or safety hazards and do not change job procedures without authorization.
- Capable of exerting up to 50 lbs of force to lift and move mechanical components.
- Able to read basic mechanical and electrical blueprints, gauges, scales, thermometers, micrometers, etc., and perform basic math calculations.
- Capable of moving up and down building stairways and working from a ladder or elevated platform; must work at heights up to 60 feet.
- Require hearing protection.
- Subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical currents, and moving objects carrying considerable weight and force.
- Capable of working in an environment of flour dust.
- Preparation and Training
- High‑school level knowledge plus specialized or technical training (commercial or shop courses, or equivalent). Helpful to possess mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills, welding skills, and ability to use a variety of maintenance hand and power tools.

- Basic level of analytical ability to complete training and learn troubleshooting.
