About the Role

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.

Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. The position is based in Reno, NV
, and FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify occupancy and to report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

• Most common inspections take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour.

Depending on county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or are willing to cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
