As a Tax Manager at YHB, you will be part of a dynamic and diverse community of public accounting professionals. You will create meaningful relationships by serving as a trusted advisor to clients, and by providing mentorship and guidance to junior employees. You will coordinate and manage engagements and be trusted to ensure their successful completion and review. • Maintain a keen understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and apply them appropriately in everyday work.
• Contribute to the creation and preservation of positive client relationships & trust by demonstrating:
  • Clear and concise communication with Firm Leadership regarding progress and status of client returns.
  • A sense of urgency and appreciation for timely completion of work to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Attention to detail and thorough revision of completed work to double‑check for accuracy.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor for YHB tax clients, identifying potential issues and presenting solutions for resolution.
• Simultaneously manage multiple client profiles, employee development, and additional firm responsibilities while maintaining client expectations and meeting deadlines within established budgets.
• Review work papers of Associates and Supervisors and provide comments for correction or adjustments, ensuring all review comments are successfully addressed and cleared.
• Keep YHB employees up to date on key changes regarding tax standards, laws, and regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Associates and Supervisors within your Leadership Circle and YHB Office by sharing valuable insight and best practices.

• Develop and possess a thorough understanding of tax accounting fundamentals; sufficient knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, regulations, and other technical guidance.
• Develop strong research, analytical, and communication skills to ensure clients remain in compliance, identify potential issues, and provide solutions for complex client issues.
• Identify problems and propose solutions using strong analytical techniques and appropriate research.
• Possess excellent communication skills to express opinions and concepts, teach, coach, and direct team members, work with clients, and document positions taken.
• Clear any review comments for the work performed.

• Obtain necessary knowledge to handle issues that may be outside of existing knowledge base or identify appropriate resources.
• Demonstrate good judgment by identifying potential issues and elevating such matters to superiors early in the engagement process, along with recommended solutions.
• Simultaneously manage multiple client engagements, employee and other firm responsibilities while meeting client expectations and deadlines within established budgets.
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of clients’ business needs by identifying issues or problems and resolving most engagement issues by applying business knowledge and experience.
• Develop and maintain strong, positive client relationships through timely and responsive communication during the engagement and periodically throughout the year.
• Be aware of potential additional service areas and opportunities to expand services.
• Manage engagements efficiently while delivering high‑quality, value‑added client service.
• Be aware of changes in regulations and identify affected clients, addressing issues or identifying appropriate experts.
• Strive to complete engagements timely, within budget, and with acceptable realization.
