Overview

Inventory Managment & Property Control Full Performance

Applicants must have an Active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance with polygraph.

Note:

US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management and Property Control personnel are responsible for assisting any office assigned with complying with property accountability and auditability, as stipulated in respective Agency regulations.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate Senior Logistics Staff Officer (or their designated representative) in the Directorate/Mission Center/Component/Office of assignment to ensure inventories and accountability/auditability efforts conform to Office of Logistics priorities.
  • Conduct inventories of goods and materials for area of assignment alone or as part of a larger team.
  • May serve as a Responsible Officer if deemed appropriate by the senior Logistics Staff focal point.
  • Perform routine physical inventorying, organize records, and interface with a wide variety of individuals requiring strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Process duties/descriptions and responsibilities as required by the assignment, noting that the discipline is diverse and dependent on the office of assignment.
  • Coordinate efforts with the appropriate senior Logistics Staff Officer to align with office priorities.
  • Process routine inventory requests by validating receipt of goods and materials against requirements.
  • Update electronic records with status and location of items.
  • Provide status of work and accountability as needed to appropriate staff and Logistics Staff focal points.
  • Issue and maintain hand-receipts; process all types of electronic transactions of property/equipment in the Sponsor's system or record.
  • Scan/create electronic records to create auditable financial statements.
  • Assist in the property inventory process; help reconcile property discrepancies; retrieve information from databases to accurately track items.
  • Assist in maintaining tables of vehicular allowances and vehicle tracking databases.
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking agency telephones.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Process requests for vehicles and mileage reports.
  • Prepare usage charts for reporting to GSA.
  • Distribute parking permits and E-ZPass devices; issue component vehicles for short-term use and track keys.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to become familiar with the Sponsor's logistics and appropriate financial regulations, policies, and unique authorities.
  • Basic knowledge of logistics procedures and policies specific to the area of assignment.
  • Basic knowledge of various logistics databases and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of how to read and interpret basic financial statements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to respond to customers' routine questions clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in developing an internal network of professional working relationships within the work unit and with counterparts in other Offices.
  • Excellent customer service skills to resolve routine problems.
  • Adaptability to changing work requirements and priorities.
  • Proven good judgment and personal initiative in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated a high level of service delivery.
  • Forklift certification may be required depending on location to move material within warehousing environments.
Work Environment

Work is primarily in an office environment and may require extensive walking and moving between buildings/offices for inventory/accountability purposes. Standing and/or walking, bending, lifting light to heavy objects, and exposure to noise, dust, dirt, etc., are expected.

Tools used in this occupation include general office equipment and hand scanning tools for inventories. Technology used includes agency databases for accountability and auditability, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in a similar or related field
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Special

    Certifications:

    Forklift operation certification within 30 days of commencing work and every 24 months as required
