Trade Foreman

Position Purpose

Trade Foreman may supervise up to 4 individual crews in all aspects of work. They are expected to perform the work in addition to supervising employees associated with the tasks assigned. The majority of their tasks require physical labor in an outdoor environment on a construction site.

• Pipe Installation and Fabrication:
  Proficient in leading mechanical installations with various pipe types such as PVC, copper, ductile iron, and steel, using appropriate tools for cutting and fitting. Capable of installing and securing pipes according to precise specifications and safety standards.
• Formwork and Concrete Carpentry:
  Proficient in leading carpentry operations, assembling formwork for concrete structures such as slabs, pads and walls, and skilled in all aspects of rough carpentry as well as concrete placement.
• Blueprint Reading and Interpretation:
  Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to water/wastewater construction.
• Work Segment Pre‑Planning:
  Skilled in pre‑planning work segments by assessing site conditions, sequencing tasks, and coordinating with other trades to ensure efficient workflow. Capable of identifying equipment, material, and manpower needs in advance, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity.
• Team Leadership and Communication:
  Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate construction crews, coupled with effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of construction experience and at least two (2) years specializing in a trade.

• Building People:
  Ability to build strong relationships with team members, promote open communication, and embrace a positive team culture. Proactive learning and problem‑solving, following directions accurately and efficiently, paying close attention to details, seeking clarification when needed, and ensuring tasks are completed according to established guidelines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand for extended periods of time, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, squat and bend over.

Base pay range: $30.00/yr – $36.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience). Salary range for the role of New Construction Plumbing / Mechanical Foreman: $60,000 – $90,000.
