Overview
The Production Associate provides technical AVL support for small-scale ministry events on and off site, and supports Sunday services and special events as assigned. Trains volunteers on AVL systems across TFCA venues, including the Sanctuary, Lower Narthex, Ministry Center, Learning Center, and Cranmer Chapel. Ensures sermons and worship recordings are captured, edited, and uploaded to the appropriate platforms. Collaborates with the Director of Worship and Production to develop necessary tracks/click and musical arrangements.
Serves weekly on Sundays in either an AV or musical role. Works with the Senior Manager of Production to maintain and optimize TFCA’s AV facilities and workflows.
- Act as the AVL technical lead for small-scale events, ensuring proper setup, teardown, and FOH mixing.
- Work with the Director of Worship and the Senior Manager of Production during Sunday services, offsite events, and retreats as a musician or production technician.
- Train volunteers—coordinating with ministry leaders—on the operation of small-scale AVL systems across TFCA venues. Maintain updated training materials and documentation for consistent volunteer performance.
- Support weekly worship band development in coordination with the Director of Contemporary Worship, including musical coaching and rehearsal assistance.
- Perform tech prep for weekly rehearsals and Sunday services in coordination with the Senior Manager of Production. Maintain and optimize TFCA AVL equipment and spaces in collaboration with AVL Systems Engineer. Develop weekly Ableton tracks in coordination with the Director of Contemporary Worship and Production. Create routine musical trainings for Worship Band members.
- Assist Senior Manager of Production in creating high-quality recordings of music content. Collaborate with the Director of Contemporary Worship to produce content for digital distribution and use in various AVL settings. Operate studio equipment (e.g., Reaper) and ensure final files are uploaded to website, podcast channels, and other distribution platforms. Assist with video shoots, lighting, and editing as needed.
- 3+ years experience in music performance and production
- BA in related field or equivalent certification
- Intermediate understanding of small-scale AVL systems and networked audio systems
- Proficiency in a major DAW (Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, etc.)
- Intermediate understanding of Planning Center Services
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work evenings/weekends
- Proven experience working collaboratively with both volunteer and paid musicians
- Satisfactory background check
