Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Psychiatrist to work at a facility in Falls Church, VA . These are registry positions with our company.

Pay Rate: $271 / hour

NEED : Has a need for a Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric treatment for diverse and complex adult (18-65) state hospital inpatients (caseload of approx. 12-15 patients).

TERM : 11/1/25 - 1/31/26 with the option to extend, Mon thru Fri 8 am - 4:45 pm

STATEMENT OF NEED/SCOPE OF WORK :
The Contractor shall provide a VA licensed Practitioner(s) to deliver medical care and services to patients on an as needed basis, at minimum, the candidate shall meet all requirements listed on the SCOPE OF WORK, State Contract. Contractor shall ensure that "placement packages" are complete with copies of all required materials for Medical Director or designee to evaluate.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities:
Directly evaluates, treats and documents treatment of assigned psychiatric inpatients on a continual basis in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and Medical Staff Bylaws; provides diagnosis after assessment; prescribes medications; monitors patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as indicated; dictates admission summaries, and discharge summaries and other necessary documentation; confers with patient's relatives, AR, legal Client, or healthcare proxy to inform them of patient's condition, changes in physical or mental status and treatment recommendations and to encourage their participation in the overall treatment planning and management of patient;

communicates with community psychiatrists as appropriate to enhance patient care, to facilitate patient discharge, and to respond to questions regarding patient management while they were in the hospital.
