Mental Health Adjunct Nursing Faculty
Arizona College of Nursing is seeking Masters and/or Doctorate‑prepared nursing professionals to join us as Part‑time Adjunct Faculty at our Falls Church, VA BSN campus.
These on‑site, in‑person teaching opportunities will begin on or after January 1, 2026, and pay $70 per hour.

Weekday daytime required; weekend availability may be needed - Preference for candidates who can teach other areas of the nursing curriculum—including Clinicals, Labs, and/or Didactic
- Develop, implement, teach, and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program.
- Design, implement, teach, evaluate, and revise the curriculum.
- Document actions taken in faculty and committee meetings using a systematic plan of evaluation for total program review.
- Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab.
- Responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.
- Design an effective learner environment that facilitates student learning.
- Support students’ progression and socialization into the nursing profession.
- Utilize assessment tools to evaluate student learning.
- Participate in systematic curriculum design and program evaluation.
- Work with Course Lead Faculty to develop student success plans and remediate at‑risk students.
- Perform related duties as requested by the dean.
- Facilitate nursing students’ application of theory to clinical practice.
- Attend healthcare facility/agency‑based orientation.
- Maintain knowledge of overall program, outcomes, and assigned course objectives.
- Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Identify and communicate clinical concerns to Course Lead Faculty and recommend solutions.
- Provide daily communication on student progress to Course Lead Faculty.
- Grade clinical papers and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain records on student performance.
- Complete clinical site evaluations.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of Arizona College of Nursing and the clinical facility.
- Attend course faculty meetings during planning week.
- Plan, teach, and evaluate classroom, clinical, skills lab, and other learning experiences with team members.
- Connect students to college resources for success.
- Participate in academic advisement and counseling.
- Consistently coach students on soft skills, including leadership, ethics, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, collaboration, responsibility, and dependability.
- Attend campus orientation and faculty meetings.
- Provide input to developing, evaluating, and revising program policies.
- Protect student privacy through FERPA training and compliance.
