Radiologic Technologist Weekend ; Rad Tech

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join the team. This role will be Full‑Time Day shift, Thursday – Saturday 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology, using appropriate techniques and positioning for optimal examinations.
• Operate radiological equipment in all settings (fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency Department, Operating Room) and apply radiation protection procedures.
• Administer IV contrast injections following American College of Radiology guidelines.
• Tutor radiography students on fundamental principles.
• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history, provide informed consent, explain procedures, and alleviate anxiety.
• Assist physicians with examinations, following standard protocols and sterile techniques.
• Identify and resolve clinical or emergency issues that may affect exams, ensuring optimal outcomes.

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• ARRT registered within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology; recent hospital/healthcare experience preferred.
