The Role

Kids Watch Pediatrics and Urgent Care is seeking a compassionate, motivated Lead Medical Assistant who is ready to advance their career in a fun, fast‑paced pediatric clinical environment. This role blends hands‑on patient care with leadership responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to mentor staff, support clinic operations, and make a meaningful impact on children and families each day.

Spanish‑speaking ability is strongly preferred, but not required.

What You’ll Do Clinical Care
  • Perform daily medical assistant duties in both pediatric primary care and urgent care settings.
  • Complete CLIA‑waived tests and ensure documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Administer childhood vaccines with confidence and precision.
  • Perform phlebotomy, place IVs, and assist with urgent care procedures within scope.
  • Triage patients based on symptoms and pediatric acuity guidelines.
  • Review and thoroughly explain discharge instructions to patients and caregivers during checkout.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe clinical work spaces in accordance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection‑control standards.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, communication, and compassionate pediatric care.
  • Train new and existing Medical Assistants; help develop and maintain training checklists and workflows.
  • Participate in interviewing and vetting new clinical staff.
  • Provide real‑time coaching, support, and feedback to help team members grow.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, team‑centered culture.
  • Assist management with quality improvement projects, clinical standards, and patient‑flow optimization.
Operational & Administrative Support
  • Place and track laboratory orders with vendors such as Quest, Labcorp, and others.
  • Monitor inventory levels and help manage supplies, vaccines, and testing materials.
  • Support smooth daily clinic flow and help troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Collaborate with leadership on scheduling, competencies, and process improvements.
  • Ensure CLIA compliance and assist with periodic inspections or reviews as needed.

Qualifications Required
  • Pediatric medical assistant experience.
  • Certified/Registered MA (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong skills in vaccines, phlebotomy, triage, and Primary and Urgent‑care support.
  • Experience using EMRs – ECW.
  • Outstanding communication and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and assist children of varying ages and mobility levels.
Preferred
  • Spanish‑speaking (bilingual strongly preferred).
  • Leadership or training experience.
  • Experience placing lab orders and working with multiple lab vendors.
