Required Qualifications- At least one year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA/ARC)
- Valid Radiologic Technologist license compliant with state regulations
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- Other relevant certifications or licenses
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Essential Work Functions- Prep and position patients for interventional procedures
- Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound)
- Assist physicians by scrubbing in, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
- Monitor and document vital signs and procedural details
- Administer contrast media and monitor for reactions
- Ensure radiation safety measures
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Manage and restock procedural supplies
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and staff
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking and service excellence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency with PC and written instructions
- Physical stamina to remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, and handle physical demands
- Effective interpersonal skills with diverse personnel
- Fine motor skill for procedural assistance
- Ability to work under pressure and irregular schedules
