Van Driver​/Life Enrichment Associate

This role will split their time as our community van driver and an associate in our Life Enrichment (activities) department.

Our drivers help our residents get out and abount in their community. Fun life enrichment outing, shopping, or medical appointments—all outings give our residents more independence. This person must be a kind, helpful, and safe driver who gets our residents where they need to go, on time and with a smile!

Activity Associates bring meaningful programming and excitement to the lives of our residents. These individuals work to develop and implement activities and entertainment that will enrich the daily lives of residents. Under the supervision of the Activity Director, Activity Associates offer a variety of interesting events to engage and connect seniors with our team, each other, and the greater community. The right person for this role enjoys fostering relationships, helping others, and encouraging self‑esteem and self‑worth.

• Drive the community vehicle as assigned by supervisor
• Inspect the community vehicle prior to operation
• Help load and unload passengers in a safe and courteous manner
• Maintain daily vehicle record
• Arrange for the vehicle’s state inspection and annual registration renewal
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or concerns to supervisor immediately and make arrangements for repairs, as needed
• Ensure vehicle’s cleanliness inside and out
• Get to know residents personally
• Maintain attendance at programs and record data in resident insights platform
• Meet with the Activity Director to evaluate activity program effectiveness
• Escort residents to activities
• Provide one‑on‑one activities to room‑bound residents
• Interact and communicate well with residents, family members, and guests
• Ability to safely operate vehicle
• Other tasks as requested by supervisor

• Possession of a valid, unrestricted commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• A safe driving record as outlined in the community’s official Van Driver job description (contact us for more)
• Previous experience in recreational therapy or in a senior living setting is preferred
