IT Systems Administrator

Overview

IT Systems Administrator position at Areté in Falls Church, VA. Requires Top Secret security clearance with SCI access including CI Polygraph. Exempt, non-supervisory, full-time. The candidate will report to the regional IT Manager and support day-to-day IT operations; occasional travel and some after-hours support may be required.

• Integrating, upgrading, and managing domain services and infrastructure in a Microsoft Windows Server environment.
• Configuring and administering line-of-business applications, IT/Cyber Tools, and other software solutions.
• Recommending improvements to the company’s IT services.
• Contributing to computer and network security using security-based products.
• Managing data backup and restoration systems for the local facility.
• Some administration and maintenance of client computers and solutions in various LAN environments.
• Providing end user support for local office operations.
• Maintaining software licensing records and supporting IT budget planning.
• Mentoring other IT staff and leading technical projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related discipline and/or current, applicable industry-standard certifications (MCSA, CCNA, Security+, RHCSA).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Windows System Administrator, Linux Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Security+CE or equivalent for DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or higher within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency with Windows Server domain services (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, DFS, DHCP).
• Strong IT troubleshooting skills and ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to produce technical documentation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or later.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS, SharePoint, Veeam, SCCM or similar tools.
• Familiarity with classified information system cybersecurity tools (Nessus/ACAS, STIGs).
• Experience collaborating with Cyber Security professionals.

The salary range is $95,000 to $125,000. Arete considers factors such as responsibilities, experience, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
