Join GEICO as a Workday Financial Senior Solution Architect/Tech Lead to drive our insurance business transformation. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will work with other engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve existing systems, and identify opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical challenges.

Position Responsibilities

• Focus initially on the Finance domain and provide technical and thought leadership before helping the enterprise drive technology solutioning.
• Leverage deep Technical and Functional Finance systems expertise to drive towards right solutions for GEICO’s current and future needs.
• Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
• Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations, and develop new integrations.
• Lead design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations.
• Leverage experience with various ERPs (e.g., Workday, People Soft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Hyperion, SAP) to enhance existing applications or build new ones for GEICO’s Finance organization.
• Leverage deep understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to drive solutions that meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problems.
• Develop and execute technical software development strategy across Finance Tech.
• Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions.
• Be a role model and mentor, coaching and strengthening technical expertise within the engineering and product community; influence and educate executives.
• Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Finance domain experience with industry‑leading ERP solutions (e.g., Workday, People Soft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Hyperion, SAP).
• 8+ years of experience with architecture and design of Financial ERP implementation.
• Deep Finance domain expertise to interpret Finance requirements into solutions.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, management reporting philosophies, and cross‑finance practices to ensure data, integrations, and solutions are well designed.
• Exemplary ability to design, perform experiments, and influence engineering direction and product roadmap.
• Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
• Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions for complex integrations.
• Experience with developing systems that are scalable, resilient, and highly available.
• Experience in working with data mart/repository/lake to support enterprise functions.
• Understanding of system monitoring concepts and tooling.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production.
• Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches.
• Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real‑time communication).
• Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented collaborative environment.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent education or work experience.
