Mindbank Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to ensure project alignment with our client's strategic objectives, delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
- Where? Falls Church, Virginia, FULLY ONSITE, 5 DAYS PER WEEK. This is not hybrid; this is not remote; exceptions cannot be made. Mindbank does not provide relocation assistance.
- Who? This is a government contract, and applicants must be either U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents. No exceptions.
- How much? Salaries are based on each applicant’s professional experience and skills. Please feel comfortable speaking about your compensation requirements; I will be transparent with you during our conversation.
In this role, you will manage highly technical IT projects and work closely with a Lead Project Manager to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. You will own execution across scope, schedule, cost, risk, communications, and delivery quality, while coordinating diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning activities and coordinate execution across engineering, data, analytics, GIS, reporting, and operations teams as applicable.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, including schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource coordination; adapt plans as needed to maintain delivery commitments.
- Track project progress and ensure deliverables meet agreed-upon timelines, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage stakeholder relationships; facilitate decision-making, expectations management, and clear, consistent communication.
- Oversee project documentation and artifacts to ensure they are current, traceable, review-ready, and aligned with governance requirements.
- Support solution lifecycle activities (e.g., design, review, approval) to ensure stakeholder requirements are captured, validated, and delivered.
- Identify project risks and issues early; design, communicate, and execute mitigation strategies to address roadblocks and delivery threats.
- Prepare and present detailed project status reports for leadership, including risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and next steps.
- Apply and continuously improve delivery practices, including Agile/Scrum ceremonies, backlog management, workflow optimization, and reporting dashboards.
- Coordinate with security, operations, and compliance stakeholders to track remediation activities (e.g., vulnerability resolution, POA&M milestones) and ensure delivery sequencing supports compliance needs.
- Support vendor and partner coordination where applicable, including performance tracking, quality assurance, and deliverable acceptance.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident able to pass a U.S. Government Public Trust Background Investigation.
- Eight (8) years of demonstrated experience managing complex, technology-driven projects with multiple stakeholders and compressed timelines.
- Strong working knowledge of project management disciplines across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and communications.
- Experience using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira to manage backlogs, workflows, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including modernization, migration, and cloud-based delivery efforts.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and common application or data migration patterns.
- Proficiency with project planning and documentation tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Word, reporting dashboards).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent).
- Experience managing Agile/Scrum-based delivery teams.
- Experience supporting cloud-hosted application delivery and modernization initiatives.
- Experience coordinating security remediation or compliance-related work streams.
