Registered Nurse (RN) Women's Float Pool

Full‑time night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, days vary) with Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Inova Fairfax Hospital seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for its Women’s Float Pool team.

Full‑time night shift with varying days, 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves comprehensive patient health assessments, individualized care planning, patient/family advocacy, documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and mentorship. The RN serves as a clinical resource and supports professional development for team members.

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets.
• Formulate individualized care plans based on assessment findings and trends.
• Support and empower patients and families through health promotion to end‑of‑life decisions.
• Advocate for patients’ rights and provide counseling as a resource.
• Anticipate ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs and intervene to maximize outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities per standards and assist the team with documentation.
• Evaluate documentation outcomes and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead other disciplines to desired outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to healthcare team members.
• Maintain continuous education by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. For RNs with an Associate’s Degree, completion plan per the stated criteria.
• Licensure:
  Licensed Registered Nurse in Virginia or active multi‑state RN license.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
