Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position at a Level I trauma center, requiring trauma ED and EPIC experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a busy Emergency Department within a hospital setting
- Level I trauma center, but this role does not receive trauma patients directly
- Handles adult and pediatric ED patient populations, seeing approximately 350 patients per day
- Shift is 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, 12-hour nights
- Expected to work 1 major and 1 minor holiday per assignment
- Must take 1-2 on-call shifts per six-week schedule
- Floating may be required to offsite EDs with smaller patient volumes
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Main responsibilities include assessment, stabilization, and medical clearance of ED patients
- ED features 73 rooms and 24 hallway spaces for patient care
- No psych patient holds; patients are medically cleared and admitted as needed
- Sitters are used for suicidal patients and security is present in the ED
- No dedicated fast track area; lower acuity patients seen in non-acute side
- First-time travelers are encouraged to apply
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and CPI certifications required
- Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience required
- Prior Level I or II trauma center experience mandatory
- Experience with Epic EMR highly preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
