General DescriptionThe Industry Specialized Program for Select Commercial Insurance Sales Producer focuses on outside sales driving new business revenue growth for commercial business clients with sales of $10mm and under. This role develops insurance industry knowledge, obtains licensing, and leverages existing industry expertise to secure new accounts in the assigned industry specialization.
Primary Responsibilities- Achieve new business sales goals on an annualized basis targeting companies with sales < $10mm.
- Create synergy and pursue cross‑selling opportunities with other practice groups to meet revenue growth targets.
- Generate sufficient new business leads and first appointment activity volume.
- Identify and overcome sales obstacles for each prospect.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the discovery process and promoting USI’s competitive differentiation.
- Communicate technical solutions effectively to non‑insurance buyers.
- Develop and maintain relationships achieving new business within a specific industry specialization.
- Use CRM systematically to support accurate, timely sales processes and realistic revenue projections.
- Actively attend and participate in USI Industry Specialized Program, USI University, and USI Select ONE Academy.
- Obtain proper insurance licensing through the program and independent study.
- Deploy sales and marketing strategies with periodic communication to optimize USI’s marketplace position.
- Represent USI positively in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
- Collaborate with account management and national/regional resources for maximum results.
- 3-5 years of business‑to‑business sales experience, including senior‑executive calling and financial success record.
- Current sales success in Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, or Industrial.
- Highly motivated, personable, goal‑oriented, and organized.
- Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organization, follow‑up, and listening with customer focus.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and teamwork.
- Commitment to mutual objectives of the Select Commercial Insurance Practice and Regional Office.
- Executive presence and ability to engage senior‑level management.
- Preferred college degree.
