Security Officer

The Security Officer will perform monitoring and maintenance of the perimeter security, building entrance and egress areas used by Goodwin Living staff and residents, as well as the parking facilities, patrol the interior of the building perimeter, maintain safety and security standards under emergency conditions, communicate orally and in writing, complete reports of security operations, perform non‑routine assignments, and non‑urgent maintenance duties after maintenance hours.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Safety and Security, the Security Officer will provide surveillance and security services at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads. The position pays $22/hr.

• Monitoring of security stations and operating security equipment.
• Enforcement of Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads policies and procedures.
• Provide security services for special events, including setting up “No Parking” signs and managing traffic and parking.
• Assist in escorting emergency vehicles to the building entrance when residents require transport to a hospital.
• Respond to fire system alarms: reset the system, report issues to maintenance staff, restore or secure activated pull stations.
• Provision of emergency and other services on weekends, holidays, and during off‑hours.
• Patrol the interior of the secure perimeter and inspect the facility.
• Communicate orally and in writing for Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads security operations and maintain accurate record‑keeping.

• Previous security experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard security practices.
• Proficiency in operating telephone and surveillance systems.
• Strong decision‑making skills in emergency situations.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills for observation and documentation of incidents.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Daily pay: work and get paid the same day.
• Tutoring for ESL, citizenship test, and GED.
